Over the last six years, I have sold more than one million German eBooks and have been the recipient of many honors, including the German Lovelybooks Readers’ Choice Award. I have been a BILD Best Seller and an Amazon Best Seller, the Kindle Best Seller of the Year, and a Kindle Storyteller finalist! I can hardly believe any of it and it makes me extremely happy. I am especially grateful that I am able to live my dream with the support of all my wonderful readers, who have encouraged me to share my stories with the English-speaking world.
But how did it all start?
I was born in the northwestern German state of Lower Saxony. After graduating from high school, I went to Heidelberg to study. In my case, this magnificent city more than lived up to its reputation because I really did lose my heart there. I still live there – happily married in the meantime – with my husband and my three children.
Since I first learned how to read, I have devoured all kinds of books whether it was secretly under my bedspread at night or during the day in my spare time. I didn’t begin to write until 2013 however. I was pregnant with my third child during that summer and staying at my parents’ house when I was bitten by the bug. I took out my laptop, began to type, and didn’t stop for three weeks. To the surprise of my family and friends – and if to no one else, but myself – I had the manuscript for my first book in my hand. The result of this intense writing attack became my debut novel in 2014 which became an unexpected success that was even Kindle’s Best Seller in 2015.
Now, there’s no stopping me; one novel is followed by the next. I’m not lacking ideas, just for the time. Even though I have an incredible family that is the most important thing in the world to me, I have still managed to pen 18 books.
To my unbelievable pleasure and, thanks to my amazing readers, every book has become a bestseller, has been in the Top 10 or even the Top 5 on the Amazon Charts. Some have stayed in the Top 100 for months, such as the German novel Du. Für immer. It remained in the Top 100 for over six months and will soon be released in English.
Eine Schildkröte macht noch keine Liebe achieved 5th place in the Lovelybooks Readers’ Choice Award in 2016 behind Nicholas Sparks.
In 2017 Wir. Für immer. was a nominated finalist for the Kindle Storyteller Award and will also be released soon in English.
Weil ich von dir träumte even held the number 1 spot for four weeks on the German Amazon Best Seller list and was number 1 on both the Amazon Charts and the German Bild Best Seller list.
Since the balancing act between being an author and a mother can only be achieved with a good dose of humor, I like to write entertaining novels with a lot of heart and humor the best. Recently, poignant and dramatic stories of romance have also flowed from my pen. And, as always, I am already working on my next novel.
It continues to be very exciting as I embark on this new adventure into the English-speaking world and I welcome all readers who want to accompany me on my journey.
